233. Wednesday Seminar: A presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence in Law and Engineering Perspective” was made.

Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law 233rd Wednesday Seminar, with the participation of our Rector, Prof Dr İbrahim Aydınlı, Asst Prof Metin Öztürk from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and with the presentation of our faculty’s Dr Lecturer Samet Tatar from Faculty of Administrative Law Department on “Artificial Intelligence in the Perspective of Law and Engineering” was carried out.

The program started with the opening speech of Prof Dr İbrahim Aydınlı, in which he emphasised the importance of multidisciplinary fields and artificial intelligence law in this context, and the program continued with the presentations of Asst Prof Metin Öztürk’s presentations. In his presentation, the speaker first explained the definition of artificial intelligence and artificial intelligence classes and touched on the subject’s current point and the targeted developments. Next, technologies that enable artificial intelligence, the areas where it is used, its risky dimensions and economic effects have been evaluated and focused on how we are in artificial intelligence as a country.

Dr Samet Tatar, on the other hand, explained the issues on which artificial intelligence debates are carried out in law within the scope of the legal dimension of artificial intelligence, and in this context, he also touched upon the problems of prejudice against artificial intelligence, the discrimination of disadvantaged groups, the issues of privacy and balance of power between countries. Finally, touching on the practices of artificial intelligence judges, the speaker evaluated whether artificial intelligence could replace judges.
