“Current Problems in Arbitration V” was held in our Faculty in collaboration with the Turkish Arbitration Academy and AYBU International Arbitration Research Center.

The event started with the opening speeches of our Faculty’s Dean Prof. Dr. Hayri
Bozgeyik and Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak. In the first session, which was moderated by Head of 11th
Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation Mr. Abdullah Yaman, Prof. Dr. Musa Aygül presented a
paper titled ‘The Validity of Arbitration Clauses in Contracts Concluded by Turkish Agent on
Behalf of a Foreign Merchant’, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersin Erdoğan presented a paper titled
‘Arbitration Agreement, Its Interpretation and Enforcement’, and Dr. Hakan Kitapçı presented a
paper on ‘Ad-Hoc Arbitration Practice in International Arbitration’. The first session ended
following the Q & A session.
In the second session, which was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eda Manav Özdemir, Dr. Samet
Tatar presented a paper on ‘To Be or Not To Be? Contemporary Developments in International
Arbitration in the Context of Digitalization’, Dr. Belkıs Vural Çelenk presented a paper titled
‘Applying Mandatory Rules of International Commercial Arbitration’ and Dr. Aysun Bolaca
presented a paper titled ‘The Problem of Dual Nationality in Investment Arbitration in Light of
Current Arbitral Decisions- Revisited!’ The session ended with the Q & A Session.
At the end of the program, certificates were provided to the participants.
