The Rector of Uzbekistan Tashkent State University, Prof. Dr. Islambek Rustambekovich and other representatives visited us. A meeting has been organised in our Faculty on 17 December 2021 and the main topic was International Arbitration. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Aydinli also joined to this meeting.
In the meeting, our Rector – Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Aydinli, firstly talked about the importance of the relationship between Turkey and Uzbekistan and underlined the friendship between these two Countries. In this context, he also referred the importance of the Partnership Agreement signed by these Universities and explained the roadmap for relevant activities that will be carried on.
Then, the Rector of Uzbekistan Tashkent State University, Prof. Dr. Islambek Rustambekovich explained the application of arbitration law in Uzbekistan. He further touched upon the scope and history of the so-called application. As for the arbitration practice in Uzbekistan; he also answered the questions asked about the current legal structure of Uzbekistan and the potential reforms.
Our Prof. Dr. Yücel Acer also made a speech at the meeting. He introduced the Arbitration Centre established in our University. In this context, he stated which activities were carried out at the Centre and their future plans.
Our Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersin Erdoğan, explained the history of arbitration practice in our country and in this context, he stated the international agreements to which our country is a party.
Dr. Aysun Bolaca from our Faculty talked about investment arbitration and then made a comparison between Uzbekistan and Turkey on the subject.
