WE ARE WAITING HERE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE HIGH TARGET
Dear young people,
Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law, located in the centre of Ankara, leaving
the successful 10 years behind, it continues to rise to the top of the preference rankings. In
2011, our faculty started its activities, with limited opportunities, by accepting students. It
continues to operate in its modern building in the centre of Ankara.

4.405 students preferred our faculty in 2019. Receiving the highest score from YKS this year,
we invite everyone who has a high goal, starting with the first one, to our faculty.
A law school;
- The suitability and diversity of training programs and courses for the needs of the time,
- Experience and dynamism of academic staff, accessibility for students,
- Foreign language and alternatives,
- Application opportunities,
- Suitability and adequacy of physical environments,
- Library and study facilities,
- Socio-cultural opportunities,
- Accessibility,
Should be selected based on such criteria.
Which law school a student will choose should not only be based on the YKS ranking, but
also on a decision that will be made by evaluating many criteria. To make this decision in the
healthiest way, a research must be done according to the above criteria.
For example, foreign language has become indispensable for legal professions like many
professions.
Regardless of the field you will aim for after graduation, foreign language is now of vital
importance.
There is one year compulsory English preparation in our faculty’s education program. In
addition to the compulsory English courses in our faculty program, several elective courses
are also included.
In addition, German, French, and Arabic law courses are also available according to the
student’s interests. A person who does not know these second languages at all can be
advanced after taking two semesters of basic courses. It is possible to have a second foreign
language by going through stages.
Roman Law, Turkish Legal History and Ottoman Legal Texts courses are included in our
program and offer you different alternatives where you can improve yourself.
In addition to the practical studies included in the program, at our faculty, different practice
courses in Turkish and English, aim to better prepare you for professional life.

In addition to regular libraries, many national and international databases are subscribed
which have the capacity to reach a high level of responsiveness. Our electronic library meets
the needs of our students such as research and preparation for exams. Within our faculty, we
continue to work on creating specialized libraries in the fields of intellectual property and comparative law.

Two centres operating in our university operate in the field of law. Trade and
Intellectual Property Law Centre and International Arbitration Centre
offer new opportunities to improve yourself.
In addition to the cafeteria and dining hall facilities in the indoor and outdoor areas of our
faculty, there are sports and recreation areas reserved for the use of our students.

Within the framework of Erasmus and Mevlana Exchange Programs, our faculty
agreements allow you to be in different countries, to gain education and working experience
in these countries.
Our faculty holds national and international competitions such as Moot Court and ISTAC
Future Arbitration Lawyer Competition.
Thanks to this and similar national and international competitions and law clinics, our faculty
increases its success with the degrees it has received in mentioned competitions. With the
help of mentioned competitions and law clinics, our students can combine their education
with practice.
Since our faculty was established, current issues have been discussed with experts every
week through Wednesday Seminars. On these seminars, different perspectives on different
branches of law are analysed. Since the establishment of our faculty, national and
international Symposiums, workshops and national and international events, the number of
which has reached twenty, have been held.
Through the symposiums, our students have the opportunity to closely monitor the legal
agenda.
Whether the pandemic continues or not, thanks to its strong informatics infrastructure, we
will be able to give some courses and some parts of the courses remotely in our faculty.
Hope to meet you at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt Hukuk,
Prof. Dr. Hayri BOZGEYİK
