The “Youth Touch to COP31: Art, Digital Design and Sustainable Future Workshop,” held at Saraçoğlu Gençlik Merkezi (Saraçoğlu Youth Center), highlighted young people’s awareness of climate change, environmental consciousness and a sustainable future through art and technology. Organized on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in the backyard of Saraçoğlu Youth Center, the event brought together university students who creatively interpreted the themes of environment, sustainability, recycling, nature awareness and climate responsibility through painting, digital poster designs and 3D printer productions. Held ahead of COP31, which Türkiye will host in Antalya on November 9–20, 2026, the workshop aimed to enable young people to contribute to the global climate agenda through artistic and technological production. During the event, students produced works under the themes of nature, water, clean energy, sustainable cities, zero waste and future vision through painting, digital poster design and 3D printing practices.

The program was organized in cooperation with Saraçoğlu Youth Center, with the participation of undergraduate and graduate students from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt Üniversitesi Sanat ve Tasarım Topluluğu (Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Art and Design Society), Modelleme ve Animasyon Topluluğu (Modeling and Animation Society), and Dijital Eğitim Koordinatörlüğü (Digital Education Coordination Office). Conducted with an interdisciplinary approach to production, the event received contributions from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seçil Kartopu, faculty member of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts, Department of Visual Communication Design; Lect. Hacı Murat Özdemir and Lect. Ekrem Pala from The Vocational School of Technical Sciences, Department of Computer Technologies, Multidimensional Modeling and Animation Program. Director of Saraçoğlu Youth Center İbrahim Demir also supported the team during the planning and implementation process, contributing to the effective organization of the event. During the workshop process, Project Coordinator and painter Şenol Karakaya guided the young participants in their painting works and field practices. Bringing together art, digital design and three-dimensional production under one roof, the program enabled young people to express their awareness of the climate crisis not only on a theoretical level but also through a creative, production-based experience. The event was also visited by Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı Gençlik Merkezleri Daire Başkanı (Ministry of Youth and Sports, Head of the Youth Centers Department) Yahya Kılıç and Gençlik Hizmetleri Genel Müdürlüğü Gençlik Merkezleri Şube Müdürü (General Directorate of Youth Services, Youth Centers Branch Manager) Bülent Tilkidöğen. During the visit, they examined the young participants’ paintings, digital designs and 3D printer productions, and received information about the creative works developed around the theme of a sustainable future.

Throughout the event, young people made COP31’s environmental and climate agenda visible not merely as a theoretical topic, but through art, design and technology. The paintings, digital posters and thematic objects produced with 3D printers at the end of the program were regarded as collective works reflecting young people’s sensitivity toward a sustainable future. The workshop held at Saraçoğlu Youth Center stood out as an exemplary event that brought together young people’s creativity, environmental awareness, technological skills and social consciousness in line with the spirit of Youth Week.
