Honey is also used in the treatment of wounds and burns. Bee venom, on the other hand, is used in some neurological (MS, ALS, Parkinson's Disease, etc.) and rheumatic disorders (RA, Ankylosing Spondylitis, etc.) especially in muscle-joint problems that affect the musculoskeletal system, and in painful conditions such as myalgia, fibromyalgia, arthralgia, neuralgia. It should not be used in people who are allergic to these products. Especially those who are allergic to bee venom can be life-threatening.

HOW IS IT APPLIED?

Live bee sting or injections containing bee venom extracts or ointments containing bee venom are used for application of bee venom to the skin. Before the application, it should be tested whether there is a bee venom allergy. It should be kept in mind that the allergy situation may develop later, and there must be authorized personnel and life support unit to intervene the patient in emergency situations at the application site. The frequency of the application varies from patient to patient. Chemical analyzes should be made for orally used bee products (honey, propolis, royal jelly, pollen, apilarnil, etc.) and these products should comply with the Turkish Food Codex Regulation and Turkish Standards Institute instructions. The quality control of these products must be done.
