The workshop titled "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Higher Education: Redesigning Curricula" was held on September 10, 2026, at 13:00 on the 9th floor of the AYBU Etlik Milli İrade Campus.
The opening speech of the workshop was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Tutar. As part of the program, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kemal Özdemir made evaluations on the integration of artificial intelligence into higher education and interdisciplinary curriculum design, while Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma Aladağ delivered her presentation titled "Digital History: Not an Issue of Artificial Intelligence, But Scale". Prof. Dr. Güven Delice shared his assessments regarding micro-credentials in higher education with the participants.
In the second part of the workshop, the Philosophy Department Working Group Meeting was held. During the meeting, various evaluations were made regarding the role of artificial intelligence in philosophy education and research processes, as well as the future of higher education curricula.
Within the scope of the assessments made by the Philosophy Department Working Group, particular emphasis was placed on the integration of artificial intelligence into the philosophy curriculum, AI ethics, the re-evaluation of current course contents from an artificial intelligence perspective, and the use of AI in research processes.
A consensus was reached at the meeting on reviewing the current philosophy curriculum in the context of artificial intelligence and evaluating the developments in the field of AI in terms of the aims and content of philosophy education.
The workshop concluded with the sharing of views on addressing the opportunities and challenges brought about by artificial intelligence in higher education by considering the unique structures of the disciplines, and re-evaluating university curricula in line with changing technological, epistemological, and social conditions.
