Our students Bekir Berk Yıldırım, Yaren Dinç, and Mert Özdemir, who achieved second place in Türkiye among 359 teams in the 2025–2026 LIFT UP Industry-Oriented Undergraduate Graduation Projects Program organized by TUSAŞ, were received by Dr. Onur Tarakçıoğlu, TUSAŞ Executive Vice President of Space Systems, at his office at the TUSAŞ Kahramankazan Campus on September 30, 2026.
The Future of the Project Was Discussed
During the meeting, the current status, areas for further development, and potential future research directions of the project titled “Anomaly Detection in Satellite Telemetry Data Using an Explainable Artificial Intelligence Approach,” developed under the TUSAŞ LIFT UP Program, were discussed. Dr. Tarakçıoğlu shared his views on the project, which was developed using publicly available satellite telemetry data from the European Space Agency (ESA) and aims to detect potential satellite malfunctions at an early stage. He also congratulated our students on their achievement.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the students’ academic and professional goals. Following the meeting, TUSAŞ presented gifts to our students.
The visit provided a valuable example of how projects carried out within the scope of university–industry collaboration can enable students to meet directly with senior industry executives and evaluate their work from an industry perspective.
As AYBÜ, we would like to thank Dr. Onur Tarakçıoğlu for receiving our students and taking the time to meet with them, as well as the TUSAŞ officials who contributed to making the visit possible. We wish our students continued success.
