Software Engineering Department Orientation Event Has Been Held

An orientation event was organized by our university’s Department of Software Engineering to help first-year students become more familiar with the department and its academic processes.

The event began with an opening speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yenal Arslan, who provided information about the department’s structure, curriculum, academic objectives, and the opportunities offered to students. Following the opening speech, the department’s academic staff took the stage to introduce themselves and briefly informed students about the educational process.

In the following sessions, students were informed about various opportunities that support both their academic and personal development. Can Kankılıç shared insights about the Erasmus program application process and key points to consider. Furkan Aydos gave details about the Erasmus internship program, informing students about international internship opportunities. Berkay İnci shared his experiences with the Work and Travel program, discussing its advantages and challenges. Bekir Berk Yıldırım talked about his experiences with internships and the Candidate Engineer Program, offering valuable advice for professional development. Emirkan Dağ introduced the Student Guide prepared for newcomers, helping them adapt to university life more smoothly.

In the final part of the event, Nihat Eren Özturan introduced the Software Engineering Club (ASEC). He provided information about the club’s areas of activity and organized events, and also presented the club’s official website. Participants were shown how to access event news, membership forms, and announcements through the website.

The event allowed students to gain comprehensive information about the department and academic staff while also getting acquainted with club activities — helping them make an active and engaging start to university life.

We extend our sincere thanks to all our faculty members, speakers, and students who participated in the event.
