Journals included in DergiPark can benefit from the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) service free of charge, in accordance with the following rules and conditions.
DergiPark DOI Usage Rules and Conditions
- Journals wishing to use this service must be listed on DergiPark.
- The journal archive should be up-to-date and consistent with the published period.
- The average number of articles per issue should not be less than 5 (five).
- The mandatory pages determined by the system should not be treated as a meticulous formality, but rather should be carefully prepared with journal-specific and explanatory content.
- It must meet at least one of the following two criteria.
- Each article should be assigned at least two reviewers in addition to the editor
- Referee evaluation forms should include multiple-choice questions, graded options, and require detailed explanation sections
- The evaluation form prepared on DergiPark should be sent to the reviewers, they should fill out this form and provide feedback, and decisions regarding major revisions should be subject to a second round of evaluation
- The article should be accepted and sent for publication.
Journals that meet the second criterion to benefit from the DOI service must have published at least two issues using the process for all articles. Journals that are observed to have completed this process carelessly (too short or too long review period, inadequate peer review forms, limited diversity of reviewers or selected from editorial boards, little diversity of authors or authors from editorial boards), disregarded ethical rules, or have an insufficient total number of articles in two issues will be expected to publish a few more issues.
The same condition must be met for numbers generated after the DOI service has started.
Newly launched magazines must meet the second condition to be able to benefit from this service.
- Journals eligible to utilize the DOI service are required to fill out the form on the Crossref page provided by DergiPark. After the form is completed, the account opened by Crossref is reported to ULAKBİM. This process takes several weeks. Journals accept and undertake that the articles for which they wish to obtain DOI service are original and have not been published elsewhere. Otherwise, the responsibility rests entirely with the journal, its responsible editor, and the author.
- Within the scope of DergiPark's DOI service, DOI numbers cannot be obtained for pages such as the journal cover, editor's note, and credits.
- Journals can obtain DOIs from DergiPark starting from the date the DergiPark DOI service began. DOIs cannot be obtained retrospectively through DergiPark.
- The journal pages should be up-to-date and issues should be published regularly.
- DOIs obtained through DergiPark are valid for the relevant journal's DergiPark page. Redirects may be implemented if the journal leaves DergiPark.
- Journals must adhere to publishing ethics guidelines. Notifications of ethical violations by journals submitted to DergiPark are considered and action is taken.
- In addition to the annual membership fee paid to CrossRef as per the sponsorship agreement with CrossRef, ULAKBİM pays a fee for each DOI obtained. DergiPark DOI service is a free service for journals and reserves the right to cancel it if the above-mentioned conditions are not met.
To submit a DOI application, you must log in with the DergiPark Editor-in-Chief role.
