AYBU International Relations Department conducts master’s program for the students who are interested in doing advanced study in the field of International Relations. The objective of master program is to prepare specialized students equipped with information and method background for doctoral programs or careers in the related area. The students who are required to write master’s dissertation in the area are encouraged to focus on both theoretical issues in international relations and field surveys in their studies.
Application Requirements:
Application requirements may be subjected to change in every application term. Therefore, there cent announcements from the Institute of Social Sciences should be followed. Application requirements according to the latest call:
For Turkish citizens:
The candidates must have a minimum score of 60 from ALES, a minimum score of 75 from English proficiency exams such as KPDS, ÜDS, YDS, YÖKDİL and other exams who see quivalency recognized by YÖK and finally a minimum CGPA of 76.66 out of 100. ALES and language proficiency exams are valid for 5 years. The candidates a real sorequired to submit two reference letters.
For international students:
- ALES or an equivalent exam such as GRE (no minimum score is required)
- English Proficiencyis not required to be documented during the application, but the accepted candidates must take a proficiency exam who see quivalency is recognized by YÖK (TOEFL, YDS, etc). Incase the applicant is a gradute of an English-medium university, language proficiency score is not required.
- A tuition fee of 6500 Turkish liras (may be subjected to changes)
- Two recommendation letters
Program Requirements:
Master students are required to success fully complete
- At least 7 courses from the program currriculum
- Scientific Research and Methodology course
- Seminar course
- Thesis proposal and dissertation
- In addition, at least one of the following must be completed before dissertation defense:
- A poster or oral presentation related to the dissertation in a national orinternational conference, congress or symposium
- A published or pending work in a national or international peer-reviewed journal, or a similar work
