The program began with a one-minute moment of silence in memory of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and our beloved martyrs, followed by the playing of the Turkish National Anthem. The opening remarks were delivered by our Department Chair, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Demir. Following the opening remarks, artists Hasan Özel and Şerife Hatun from the Turkish Folk Music Department of TRT Ankara Radio delivered a comprehensive and insightful presentation to the participants on the importance, history, and compilation of Turkish folk poetry, as well as current issues related to these topics, accompanied by musical performances.
At the conclusion of the conference, which drew significant interest from both faculty and students, our Department Chair, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Demir, and the Chair of the Turkish Folk Literature Division, Prof. Dr. M. Mete Taşlıova, presented flowers and gifts to our distinguished guests, Hasan Özel and Şerife Hatun. The event concluded with a group photo and conversations over tea and refreshments in front of the A Block conference hall.
