Mechanical Building Services Workshop for Thermal Comfort, Water & Gas Systems
Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Department of Architecture, is preparing to launch the first expert session of the Fall 2025–2026 ARCH315 Building Installations and Physics course. The upcoming Mechanical Building Services Workshop for Thermal Comfort, Water & Gas Systems will introduce students to the technical infrastructure that directly shapes indoor environmental quality.
Guest speaker Melih Özöner (Mechanical Engineer & Founder, YMT Engineering) will discuss system requirements, design considerations, and basic performance principles related to thermal comfort, water distribution, and gas installations. The workshop will also touch on how these systems influence architectural decision-making.
Date: 02.12.2025
Time: 09:30
Venue: L303 & L302
Open to: Faculty
The session is coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Ekrem Bahadır Çalışkan, Aslı Zeynep Doğan, and Buse Akçay Pehlivanoğlu. ARCH315 students are expected to attend as part of the course program.

Mechanical Building Services Workshop for HVAC
As part of its ongoing effort to connect architectural education with professional practice, the Department of Architecture at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University will host the Mechanical Building Services Workshop for HVAC within ARCH315 Building Installations and Physics.
Led by Onur Tuğa (Mechanical Engineer & Founder, OTM Engineering), this event will focus specifically on heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning strategies. The session will emphasize practical considerations such as airflow, system placement, comfort standards, and basic coordination requirements in architectural projects. A workshop discussion will follow the lecture, allowing students to evaluate HVAC implications within their own designs.
Date: 09.12.2025
Time: 09:30
Venue: L303 & L302
Open to: Faculty
Organized by Assoc. Prof. Ekrem Bahadır Çalışkan, Aslı Zeynep Doğan, and Buse Akçay Pehlivanoğlu, this event forms the second expert engagement of the semester.

Electrical Building Services Workshop
The final expert seminar of the semester in the ARCH315 Building Installations and Physics course will center on electrical systems in architecture. The Electrical Building Services Workshop, hosted by the Department of Architecture at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, will explore the foundations of electrical infrastructure and lighting planning in building design.
Kemal Aykaç (Electrical and Electronics Engineer & Founder, Özay Engineering) will address key topics including power distribution, safety considerations, lighting needs, and the coordination required between architects and engineers. Students will have the opportunity to engage in Q&A and discuss how electrical decisions shape spatial organization.
Date: 16.12.2025
Time: 09:30
Venue: L303 & L302
Open to: Faculty
The event is organized by Assoc. Prof. Ekrem Bahadır Çalışkan, Aslı Zeynep Doğan, and Buse Akçay Pehlivanoğlu, and marks the concluding workshop of the ARCH315 expert series.
