According to the results announced under the 2209-A Undergraduate Research Projects Support Programme administered by TÜBİTAK, students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences have achieved a remarkable success. A total of 5 projects from three different departments have been selected for funding.
The Department of Psychology had 3 projects accepted. Beyza Yaren Çekirge, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Gülden Sayılan, received support for her project titled "Motherhood Experiences and Emotional Outcomes in the Shadow of Social Media Mothers: A Qualitative Study." İdil Karabey, also supervised by Assoc. Prof. Gülden Sayılan and working alongside Habibe Meryem Sarısaçlı, was selected with her study "Moral Licensing and Moral Cleansing: Examining Self-Regulation Mechanisms Through Moral Dilemma Reasoning and Volunteering Behavior." Meliha Nur Karaduman, supervised by Asst. Prof. Elif Emir Öksüz and collaborating with Nisanur Toraman, earned support for "Examining the Experiences of Microaggression Among Individuals with Invisible Disabilities."
From the Department of Sociology, Şerifenur Altay, supervised by Lecturer Murat Öztürk and working with Nezafet Kalkandere, Pınar Ava, and Erdem Ünlü, was selected with her project "The Effect of Transportation Opportunities on Academic Achievement: A Comparison of AYBÜ and ASBÜ."
From the Department of English Translation and Interpreting, Sezin Öcal, supervised by Asst. Prof. Büşra Özer Erdoğan, received support for "Equivalence Problems in the English Translation of Criminal Law Terms in the Turkish Penal Code."
