Faculty Members Awarded TÜBİTAK 2214 and 2219 Research Grants

According to the results announced within the scope of the 2025 TÜBİTAK International Research Fellowship Programs, faculty members of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences have achieved a significant success.

In this context, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Çelik, Head of the Department of History of Science, has been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 2219 – International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çelik will conduct his research entitled “The Origins of the Shaping Powers of Two Scholars and Jurists: A Comparative Study of the Educational Backgrounds of Shaykh al-Islam Ebussuud Efendi and Pope Pius IV” for a period of 12 months at the University of Bologna – Centro Interuniversitario per la Storia delle Università Italiane (CISUI), Italy.

In line with the same results, Research Assistant Muhammet Mustafa İyi from the Department of Sociology has been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 2214 – International Research Fellowship Program for PhD Students. Research Assistant İyi will carry out his study entitled “Voting for Populist Radical Right Parties in the Host Country: The Turkish Diaspora in Austria and the FPÖ” for a period of 9 months at the Austrian Institute for International Research and Development, located in Vienna, Austria.

These international research activities are expected to make significant contributions to the Faculty’s scientific productivity and international academic visibility.
