The aim of the undergraduate programme in English Translation and Interpreting is to educate translators and interpreters who can translate between English and Turkish languages in various fields (literature, law, economics, social and scientific sciences, etc.) within the scope of scientific methods. Our students are aimed to achieve the following gains:
TO 1: To have knowledge about the historical development of the profession of Translation and Interpreting in Turkey and in the world
TO 2: To be able to use source and target languages, Turkish and English, effectively
TO 3: To know and apply translation strategies and techniques
TO 4: To be able to use dictionaries, term banks and translation tools effectively in the translation process
TO 5: To have knowledge about the legal framework and ethical principles of the translation and interpreting profession
TO 6: To have knowledge about field-specific applications that may be encountered in the process of interpreting and translating
TO 7: To have a good command of the quality control process in translation, correction methods, pre- and post-editing processes of machine translation, which has become a basic skill.
TO 8: To be aware of the necessity of lifelong learning
TO 9: To Acquire the necessary research skills to access information
TO 10: To demonstrate B1 level skills in a second foreign language in addition to the primary language of translation, English-Turkish language pair.

Learning Outcome 1: Possesses the knowledge of methods and processes required to apply the concepts and theories of translation studies in written and spoken translation tasks.
