The visit to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM), organized for the students of the Arabic Translation and Interpreting Department at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, was held on May 7, 2026 at 09:00 with high participation. Bringing together academic and professional development, the event provided students with the opportunity to closely observe institutional functioning, particularly in relation to the field of translation and interpreting, within public institutions.
The visit was held with the participation of Lecturer Tahyr CHARYYEV and Research Assistant Sefa AKSU. During the program, Mahmut Sami AKGÜNDÜZ provided the student group with detailed information about the history, structure, and functioning of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
Within the scope of the visit, a special talk was held focusing on career opportunities in the field of translation. Participants were informed about public sector employment processes, the future of the profession, and current sector expectations. In addition, up-to-date information was shared regarding internships, application procedures, and career planning.
Throughout the program, students had the chance to connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience, gaining a clearer understanding of how public institutions operate and developing a stronger professional perspective.
