The panel titled “Being a Child in Gaza,” held at our university, took place with strong participation from academics, students, and invited guests. In her opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Fatma Elif ERGİN, a faculty member of our department, addressed the meaning of being a child in environments of war and conflict, drawing attention to the hardships children face. During the panel, speakers assessed the situations children face in Gaza from historical, psychological, and legal perspectives. Presentations on topics such as children’s rights, trauma, the right to education, and humanitarian responsibilities provided participants with diverse perspectives. Throughout the event, emphasis was placed on children’s universal rights, and the importance of raising social awareness was underscored. The program concluded interactively with questions and contributions from the participants.
