Dr. Fatih Cemil Özbuğday has shaped his academic career through his master's and doctoral studies at Bilkent University and Tilburg University in the Netherlands, combining his theoretical knowledge of economics with practical experience gained at institutions such as PwC Amsterdam and the Netherlands Competition Authority. Through his publications in highly regarded international journals (Q1 – the top 25% of journals in the field), he makes significant contributions to scholarly debates in the areas of energy efficiency, the circular economy, competition economics, and business economics. Dr. Özbuğday considers sharing this multifaceted expertise with his students and the academic community to be one of his primary priorities.
Having served at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University since 2013, Dr. Özbuğday has continued his administrative service as the Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences since 2025, following a decade-long tenure as Vice Dean. Through his work with the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO and the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), Özbuğday contributes to efforts to promote the understanding and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals across Türkiye. With his identity as an educator, scholarly rigor as a researcher, and administrative experience, he continues to contribute to the development of our faculty.
