The names to receive the TÜBA-GEBİP (Outstanding Young Scientist) and TÜBA-TESEP (Scientific Copyright) Awards, which are carried out under the auspices of the Presidency, have been announced. The awards will be presented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at a ceremony to be held at the Presidential Complex.
This year, 34 outstanding young scientists from 21 different universities and institutions won the TÜBA- GEBİP awards, which are given in order to encourage research in all fields of science in Turkey, to encourage scientists and researchers, to direct young people to the field of science and research in this regard and to ensure the public acceptance of science.
Within the framework of the awards given in 5 different categories including Natural Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences and Ahmet and Nezahat Keleşoğlu TÜBA-GEBİP Pharmacy Special Award, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Tirgil, Deputy Dean of our Faculty 's Department of Finance, was one of the 11 names who were entitled to receive an award in the field of Social Sciences.

About TÜBA- GEBİP Awards
The programme has been awarded since 2001 with the aim of rewarding and encouraging outstanding young scientists working in the fields of natural, engineering, health and social sciences to continue their scientific studies in Turkey, to form their own working groups, and to publish internationally qualified projects and publications originating from Turkey. Within the scope of the programme, which is unique and in high demand, in addition to the financial support of 35 thousand TL every year for 3 years, an additional support of 15 thousand TL every year for doctoral students at the thesis stage and consultancy by members of the academy are also provided.
About TÜBA-TESEP Awards
The programme aims to encourage the writing and publication of qualified Turkish scientific works at university level in all fields of science. The programme, which was initiated in 2008 and was called TEÇEP until 2016, where copyrighted and translated works were awarded, was decided to continue as TESEP, which aims to encourage copyrighted works, from 2017 onwards. As of this year, within the scope of TÜBA-TESEP Awards, "Halil İnalcık Special Award", "Fuat Sezgin Special Award" and "Mehmet Genç Special Award", which were established by the Academy Council in the name of our Honorary Members who have added value to world science in their fields and honoured our country with their national and international achievements, are awarded to works published in certain fields of science. In 2022, 25 thousand TL for TESEP Copyright Award, Fuat Sezgin Special Award, Halil İnalcık Special Award and Mehmet Genç Special Award, and 15 thousand TL for Noteworthy Copyright Award (honourable mention).
