ANKARA YILDIRIM BEYAZIT UNIVERSTIY STATE CONSERVATORY FOR TURKISH MUSIC

“State Conservatory for Turkish Music of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University” has been established in 2011 as one of the first two Ankara originated conservatories for Turkish Music in the history of the Republic of Turkey. The conservatory has been resuming its physical and academic structuring studies within a concept that aims to educate qualified performers, researchers and academicians who comprehend the delicacies of historical music traditions in our country and who can put these delicacies to use in the process of transferring Turkish Music from past to the future consistently. While the institution contains three branches namely as “Turkish Music”, “Musicology” and “Turkish Folk Dances”, the first undergraduate student admission is made for “Turkish Religious Music Undergraduate Program” in Fall 2013, the master’s program in the “History of Turkish Religious Music” was started in Spring 2014 and the “doctorate” program is being founded in 2013-2014 academic year. In near future, together with the educational studies, “State Conservatory for Turkish Music of Yıldırım Beyazıt University” intends to serve our country and world culture as an active and productive institution in its field by means of conducting scientific and artistic activities as well as publishing scientific papers.
