Our Conservatoire, operating within Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, carries out its higher education activities with the aim of preserving, developing and passing on the rich heritage of Turkish music to future generations, whilst approaching it from an academic perspective. Our Conservatoire possesses an institutional structure that evaluates Turkish music—with its historical depth and cultural continuity—within the unity of academic discipline and artistic performance.

The education and teaching activities carried out at our Conservatoire are planned and implemented in accordance with higher education legislation, scientific methods and the universal principles of arts education. Within this framework, the primary objective is to nurture our students into individuals who are competent in their field of study, possess high performance ability, have developed research and analytical skills, and are committed to professional ethical values.

The undergraduate programmes offered by our institution are structured to cover various fields of Turkish music, providing theoretical and practical training in related areas—primarily Turkish Religious Music and Turkish Classical Music (TSM)—through a holistic approach. Furthermore, the aim is to enhance students’ professional competence through instrumental training and individual performance classes. These programmes are continuously updated and developed in accordance with the academic standards required by the field, enabling the production of graduates capable of competing at both national and international levels.

Thanks to our expert academic staff, robust institutional infrastructure and practice-based educational philosophy, our conservatoire plays an active role not only in teaching and learning activities but also in research, publishing and artistic production. Through the concerts, academic conferences and project activities we organise, we ensure the representation of Turkish music in both its academic and performance dimensions, thereby safeguarding the sustainability of our cultural heritage.

Our Conservatoire, acting in line with national cultural policies, resolutely continues its efforts to preserve and develop Turkish music; at the same time, it aims to develop an educational model that integrates with a contemporary understanding of the arts. In this regard, our institution maintains its status as a respected centre of education and research that cultivates high-calibre human resources within our higher education system.

On this occasion, I would like to thank all our academic and administrative staff for their contributions to the development of our conservatoire; I wish our students every success in their educational careers.
