AYBÜ Hosts Comprehensive Information Meeting on UNIDES and Youth Work

Within the scope of youth programs run by the General Directorate of Youth Services of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey, a comprehensive information meeting was held for student communities at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University's Esenboğa Campus. The presentation was given by İsmail Ömer Polat.

At the opening of the meeting, the structure of the General Directorate of Youth Services, the institutional framework of youth work, and the roles of Youth Offices at universities were discussed. This was followed by a general evaluation of the programs, trainings, cultural gatherings, trips, and various workshop activities carried out in the field of youth. Polat emphasized that student communities have an important area of experience, both culturally and socially, through these activities.

The focus of the meeting was the UNIDES Student Community Cooperation and Support Program. The program's objectives, application processes, past support amounts, and examples of completed and ongoing projects were explained; in particular, the application process and preparation support for the “Cracking Soil, Cracking Future” project were detailed. It was noted that project visuals and exhibition activities are important for the visibility of youth projects. Participants were provided with detailed yet concise information on the documents required for the UNIDES application process, the partnership structure, the preparation of the project budget, visibility materials, operational costs, and the distinction between national and local projects. In addition, the basic principles regarding supported and unsupported budget items were explained, and the project implementation schedule, evaluation criteria, and the roles that university students can play in this process were discussed.

The meeting was considered an important informational event that encouraged student communities to participate more effectively in youth work, strengthened project development skills, and reinforced university-ministry cooperation.
