Students who will take the CE496 Graduation Project course are required to have successfully completed the prerequisite course determined by the faculty member they wish to work with. Depending on the faculty member you want to work with, you can find the course you need to pass in the table.
(Note: In order to take the CE496 course this semester, the number of AKTS completed must be at least 200.)
Between the dates 11.02.2026 – 12.02.2026, students must personally contact the instructors they wish to work with and have the attached approval form signed. These face-to-face meetings with your instructors will allow you to gain detailed information about project topics; furthermore, if you reach an agreement with an instructor, you will have the opportunity to start your project directly without needing to participate in the second-stage general preference and placement process. Approved forms must be delivered by hand to Res. Asst. Resul SALMAN (B307) in exchange for a signature no later than the specified dates. For students who do not complete this process, placements will be carried out in the second stage via a centralized system based on GPA and available quotas.
The remaining quotas for each instructor will be announced on our website on 12.02.2026.
Students who are unable to have the CE496 Graduation Project Approval Form signed by 17:00 on 12.02.2026 will be able to submit their preferences for 5 different instructors they wish to work with, in order of priority, via a link that will be shared on 13.02.2026, between the dates 13.02.2026 – 14.02.2026. The preferences made for each instructor will be finalized based on your GPA and whether you have passed the prerequisite course determined by the respective instructor. (Students who cannot be placed in any of their preferences will be assigned to an instructor considering the departments of the instructors they selected and their transcripts.)
During the face-to-face meetings between the dates 11.02.2026 – 12.02.2026 and the preference period on 13.02.2026 – 14.02.2026, you must also provide your transcript in the attachments.
On 15.02.2026, the preferences of all students and the instructors they have been assigned to will be announced on our website. Based on this announcement, you must select the course of the respective instructor between the dates 15.02.2026 – 16.02.2026.
After the preference results are announced, students must register for the section of their assigned instructor through the system by 16.02.2026.
Specifically, the selections of students who do not fill out the approval form in the first stage or who register for an instructor other than the one assigned by the system (without their approval) will be considered invalid. Students who do not register for the correct instructor's course by the specified date or who do not initiate the process with their approved instructor will be deemed to have withdrawn from the course, and their registration will be dropped from the system. To avoid any grievances, please ensure that your assigned instructor matches the section in your course list.

3 Critical Points to Remember
- Prerequisite Requirement: If you have not successfully completed the specific prerequisite course determined by the instructor you wish to select, it is not possible to work with that instructor. In such cases, the system will automatically place you into an available quota based on your GPA and the prerequisite courses you have fulfilled.
- Document Preparation: It is mandatory to bring an up-to-date transcript to your face-to-face meetings with instructors to prove your academic standing and whether you have passed the prerequisite course.
- Course Registration and Finalization: Once your assigned instructor is finalized, you must personally add the course via the system between February 15-16. Students who register for a section other than their assigned instructor, or who do not complete the registration process within these dates, will be deemed to have withdrawn from the course, and the course will be dropped from their system.
