Our department was first established at 2011 as Electronics and Communication Engineering and in November 2013 department was renamed as Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In 2011-2012 academic year Undergraduate and Master’s Degree Programs have been started to offer, in 2012-2013 academic year Phd degree has been started to offer. All classes are being offered in English and there exist an english preperation school for our students. Currently there are 361 undergraduate students with 31 international students and 101 graduate students with 9 of them are international students. Our students have the opportunity of taking theoretical and applied core courses with department electives and free electives in the guidance of our qualified academic staff. In our department we offer double major and minor degrees. In addition to academics, there are plenty of organizations during the year with student club activities, technical activities which is organized by our department and social activities by our department and university.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering is the one of the most important department that provides technology to create information for the society. In general Electrical and Electronics engineers design and develop devices, connections, networks and systems that is for detecting the sound, image and similar data for recording, processing, transmitting, sharing and analyzing.
Mission of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering is to provide our students to have ability to design, develop, produce and cooperative working interdisciplinary. In the program, there are electronic devices and circuits, optics, communication systems, information processing and any other research area electives that students want to get involve with. Our students are getting experienced with elective courses regarding their research interests. Our main research topics are photonics, RF and microwave systems and technology, communication theory and applications, media technology, signal, audio and video processing, biomedical engineering, robotics and power electronics.
Primary education language in our department is English, after one year of English preparation course student begin their education in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department with academicans expert in their fields. In our department undergraduate, masters and doctorate level degrees are being offered.
