In the Speech and Language Therapy Undergraduate Program opened in the 2019-2020 academic year at our university, the education period is 4 years and the education is given full-time. The language of instruction is Turkish and the courses are conducted theoretically and practically. At the end of four years, students who successfully complete the Speech and Language Therapy undergraduate program graduate with the title of " Speech and Language Therapist". With Law No. 6225 enacted in 2011, the professional definition of Speech and Language Therapists has been clarified and its content has a multidisciplinary structure, although it is separated from other disciplines. “Speech and Language Therapist; Having graduated from faculties or colleges providing undergraduate education in the field of language and speech therapy, or having a master's degree or doctorate in Speech and Language Therapy on other undergraduate education, working for the prevention of voice, speech and language disorders of individuals and diagnosed by the relevant specialist physician. A speech and Language Therapist is a healthcare professional who provides the rehabilitation of speech disorders.”

Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University is a state university that started its undergraduate education in the Department of Speech and Language Therapy in our country as of the 2019-2020 academic year. Speech and Language Therapy, which is one of the most preferred and competitive professions in the world, is among the priority professions that do not have a problem finding a job today and in the future, although it is new in our country. Innovative studies and research are carried out in the field of speech and language therapy in public universities, state hospitals, and private education and rehabilitation centers that we have contracted with our university. Our program; In the world of science that is open to continuous development, it aims to train research students who, in addition to their strong professional skills, constantly renew themselves by accessing scientific knowledge, protecting their professional ethical values, cooperating with different disciplines, meet the needs of society in the light of knowledge and science, and have high standards of knowledge and clinical experience. Speech and Language Therapists (SLT); practice at the stages of prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, and therapy in language, speech, communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. SLT can provide a wide range of services from infancy to old age. Disorder groups that SLT works with are Language Disorders due to Developmental Disabilities such as Fluency Disorders, Language Disorders, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Speech Sound Disorders, Voice Disorders, Acquired Language Disorders, Motor Speech Disorders, Swallowing Disorders,  Speech, and Language Disorders due to Craniofacial Anomalies.

Speech and Language Therapists; They find job opportunities in university hospitals, public and private hospitals, private education and rehabilitation centers, and private clinics. At the same time, graduates of the Speech and Language Therapy undergraduate program can pursue an academic career by continuing their master's and doctoral studies.
