2026 Turkish Language Summer School, organized in collaboration with AYBU DİLMER and the Yunus Emre Institute, continues with activities designed to help students gain a closer understanding of Türkiye’s historical and cultural heritage, alongside Turkish language instruction.

As part of the program, students visited Hamamönü, one of Ankara’s prominent historic neighborhoods that preserves the city’s historical character. Known for its traditional Ankara houses, historic buildings, and distinctive atmosphere, Hamamönü offered students the opportunity to experience Ankara’s cultural heritage, spanning from the past to the present.

As part of the excursion, students also visited the Mehmet Akif Ersoy House, which preserves important memories regarding the National Struggle Period and the life of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the poet of the Turkish National Anthem, in Ankara. During their visit, students learned about Mehmet Akif Ersoy’s life, literary career, and his role during the National Struggle Period, gaining an opportunity to explore and to get closely acquainted with an important figure in Turkish literature and modern Turkish history.

Enriched with cultural excursions, the 2026 Turkish Language Summer School programme aims not only to enhance students’ Turkish language skills but also to enable them to gain a closer understanging of Türkiye’s history, culture, literature, and social life.

Bringing together students from different countries, the program continues to enrich their knowledge and understanding of Türkiye by integrating language learning with cultural interaction.
