Healthcare Turkish Training for Students from the Turkic World

Turkic World – Healthcare Turkish Training: Clinical Competence, Professional Communication and Integration Program is designed to improve the professional Turkish language proficiency of international students from the Turkic Republics—Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan—who are studying in health sciences programs at higher education institutions in Ankara. The program aims also to strengthen participants’ clinical communication skills and facilitate their adaptation to the Turkish healthcare system. 

The training program, organized by DİLMER (Language Teaching, Application and Research Center) of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, will be offered as free of charge.

The program is open to undergraduate and associate degree students enrolled in health-related fields, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, midwifery, nutrition and dietetics, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, gerontology, psychology, clinical psychology, social work in healthcare, healthcare management, healthcare institution administration, and medical documentation and secretarial studies, as well as international students pursuing graduate studies in the fields of basic medicine and health sciences. In addition, international healthcare professionals undergoing speciality training by Medical Specialty Examination (TUS) or Dentistry Specialty Examination (DUS) may also apply.

Only international students who are citizens of the Turkic Republics (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan) are eligible to apply. Applicants must be actively enrolled in a health-related program at a public or foundation university in Ankara.

The program consists of four main modules designed to develop participants’ professional Turkish language skills and address their specific communication needs in healthcare:
• Medical Terminology and Text Analysis
• Case Presentation and Reporting
• Professional Communication
• Integration and the Turkish Healthcare System

Application and Program Dates
• Application Period: 10 August 2026 – 3 October 2026
• Program Dates: 5 October 2026 – 12 November 2026
• Quota: 50 participants

The training program is planned as a total of 120 course hours and will be delivered online on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 19:00 to 22:10. Classes will be conducted in 30-minute sessions followed by 10-minute breaks.

Participants, admitted to the program, are required to attend at least 80% of the classes. Online classes will be recorded and made available to participants via University's distance education system, allowing them to access and review the sessions at a later time. Digital educational materials, including lecture notes, case analyses, sample discharge summaries (epicrises) and worksheets, will also be provided to participants.

At the beginning of the program, a pre-test will be conducted to assess participants’ existing proficiency levels. At the end of the program, a post-test and assessment scales will be conducted to evaluate their learning progress.

Participants, who successfully complete the training program and the assessment processes, will receive a certificate of achievement/participation, issued by Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University.

The training program will be provided by the DİLMER of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University as free of charge.
