System Branch Office
This unit is responsible for establishing, operating, managing, and supervising the network infrastructure of our university, as well as developing projects related to the future of the network. It handles structural cabling, local network setup, management of the existing network, supervision, and project development for future network needs. It provides the necessary infrastructure, hardware, software, and information support to offer internet access to users.
It operates, updates, and backs up all server computers and essential internet services (DNS, FTP, WEB, EMAIL, WEBMAIL, PROXY, etc.) hosted by our department. It manages the needs, installation, and administration of software such as databases and programming language compilers running on server computers.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, tracking, coordinating, and supervising the work of the unit it is responsible for; ensuring it is conducted regularly, quickly, effectively, and in compliance with regulations; taking measures to increase the work efficiency of the personnel it oversees, and ensuring they work in harmony.
- Monitoring developments in information processing technology, researching the applicability of new technologies to the university and the IT Department's activities.
- Facilitating project work by ensuring that all project design, development, and implementation activities are carried out in accordance with the standards, principles, and methods determined by the IT Department.
- Assigning tasks, identifying authorities and responsibilities, establishing working principles, and ensuring discipline.
- Developing a quality service understanding, making arrangements to increase efficiency, and ensuring harmonious work.
- Developing remedial measures related to the service and recommending them to superiors.
- Collecting information and conducting analyses to determine needs, and ensuring the development of designs and applications based on the results.
- Performing other tasks assigned by the Department Head.
Software Branch Office
This office is established to structure and update the Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University website, create web pages for academic and administrative units and organizations, and provide technical support for academic and administrative staff web pages.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining, backing up, and managing applications, database, and application servers operating within the management systems framework of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, and ensuring their coordination with other systems managed by the IT Department.
- Preparing software projects needed by the Presidency and university units.
- Conducting software analyses, determining software and security standards, and creating database models.
- Planning business processes in projects.
- Testing completed projects and providing technical support to units that need it.
- Maintaining and updating the software for which it is responsible.
- Preparing specifications for software to be outsourced.
- Tracking necessary training and requesting it from management.
- Ensuring coordination with other units.
- Developing and updating the university website and providing technical support for creating web pages for units that need it.
- Conducting and reporting research and investigations related to its field of work.
- Preparing reports and specifications for tasks within its field.
- Performing other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Hardware and Technical Support Branch Office
This office is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all computers, printers, and hardware registered to our university's inventory. It ensures the installation of general and specialized programs on all computers. It determines all technological devices to be used within the IT Department according to need. It distributes consumables related to the hardware supplied by our department based on incoming requests. It ensures the continuity of unit support for the completion and integration of corporate software systems and the realization of management systems training.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying and resolving hardware or software failures in computers and other peripheral devices recorded in the institution's inventory and/or defined in the system.
- Participating in the installation stages of operating systems and user programs (Office, Antivirus, E-signature, etc.).
- Participating in the introduction, problem identification, and resolution stages of existing printer and photocopy devices.
- Participating in the construction of small-scale network cabling tasks for end-user needs, excluding large-scale network infrastructure construction work such as computer lab data infrastructures.
- Participating in the installation and activation of wireless access and switching devices allocated to all buildings.
- Participating in the execution of internet connection processes for all users (firewall operations, adding new users, deleting users, checking connection problems, etc.).
- Ensuring the execution of technical service operations and the coordination of personnel in the field of informatics.
- Ensuring the hardware improvement and software updates of all computers.
- Sending expert members to scrap commissions for computers/printers/scanners, etc., to be scrapped in our university units, and supervising the suitability of the scrap IT materials.
- Preparing reports and specifications for tasks within its field.
- Performing other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Administrative and Financial Affairs Branch Directorate
This directorate handles communication, personnel transactions, correspondence, budget management, property, procurement, and tender stages, and movable registration transactions in coordination with internal and associated institutions and organizations (Ulaknet, Telecom, Companies, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring and controlling that personnel work efficiently, orderly, and harmoniously in the unit they are responsible for.
- Being proficient in all regulations related to their duties (Laws, Decrees, Presidential Decrees, Regulations, Presidential Decisions, Directives, Circulars) and conducting all administrative tasks.
- Ensuring work division among administrative, technical, and general service personnel in the unit, and conducting necessary supervision and oversight.
- Managing communication, personnel transactions, correspondence, budget management, property, procurement, and tender stages, and movable registration transactions in coordination with internal and associated institutions and organizations (Companies, Ulaknet, Telecom, etc.).
- Entering salary and/or SGK premium information into the relevant institutional systems.
- Preparing reports and specifications for tasks within their field.
- Performing other tasks assigned by supervisors.
