The 1st International Symposium on New Horizons in Law and Technology will be held on October 8, 2025, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, and the Presidential Nation Library.
This year's theme of the symposium series, which aims to evaluate technological developments from a legal perspective, is "Legal Aspects of the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Social Media." The symposium will be hosted by the Presidential Nation Library. Opening remarks will be delivered by Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Dr. Cevdet YILMAZ, Director of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Prof. Dr. Burhanettin DURAN, Rector of the university Prof. Dr. Ali Cengiz KÖSEOĞLU, and Dean of the faculty Prof. Dr. Neslihan KARATAŞ DURMUŞ. The main topics of the symposium, which will be completed in three sessions, have been determined as “Legal and Social Reflections of Social Media”, “Social Media in Terms of Personal Data Protection and Criminal Law”, and “Platforms’ Approach to the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Social Media”.
