On April 7th, 2023, our Dean, Prof. Dr. Murat DEMİRKOL, presented the successfully completed TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 Project at the AYBU Eastern Campus Conference Hall. The project, which was accepted by TÜBİTAK in 2017, was led by Prof. Dr. Murat DEMİRKOL and involved researchers in Islamic Philosophy from five different universities. The project was successfully concluded in 2021. Prof. Dr. Ömer TÜRKER from Marmara University, Prof. Dr. Hasan AKKANAT from Hacıbayram Veli University, Necmi DERİN from Dicle University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Fatih KILIÇ from Ankara Social Sciences University, and Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Hakan ÇOŞAR from Kastamonu University contributed to the project as researchers. The project named with “El-İşarat ve’t-Tenbihat Şerh Geleneği İçinde Yapılan Felsefenin Gelişim ve Özgünlük Bakımından İncelenmesi” focused on examining the development and originality of philosophy produced within the tradition of commentary on Ibn Sina's philosophical book, "El-İşarat ve’t-Tenbihat," by taking into account 16 important commentaries written in the history of Islamic philosophy. The project attempted to determine whether commentators such as Razi, Tusi, Urmevi, and Semerkandi, among others, presented original views and interpretations, understood Ibn Sina's views, explained them, made them problematic, and discussed them. Five problems were examined in a specific phase of the commentary tradition, including essence and existence, possibility and necessity, causality, self and intellect, and knowledge.
