The Department of Journalism sees qualified people and citizens as the source of all kinds of values; Within this framework, it aims to train journalists, experts, researchers, media managers and academicians who will assume active roles and tasks at national and international levels, especially in the written, visual and audio media and publishing sector.
The complex social structure of the modern world and the need for qualified manpower make it necessary to specialize and become competent in the field of journalism as in all other fields. Producing and distributing the correct news and information, and reaching the right information at the right time with the right tools and equipment are becoming increasingly important in our country and in the world. Communication and news play a vital role in the healthy functioning of social structures, institutions and democracies; this increases the importance of communication faculties and journalism departments. In this context, the graduates of the journalism department have a great role; Journalists who adhere to the ethical principles of the press and universal values, equipped with intellectual and practical knowledge, have a working discipline as well as productive, can think critically and act impartially and carry out their work with a public sense of duty will add value to their countries.
Our department will give priority to its students to graduate with modern knowledge and methods, and have technical skills in the field of creative and productive journalism, acting with this awareness in its education and training activities.
