SPEAKING CLUB







ILC Speaking Club provides learners with free speaking practice with instructors. Learners are supposed to follow weekly schedules and visit ILC Reception Desk to sign up for the sessions appropriate for their level.
Weekly schedules can be found on class bulletin boards, at the ILC, AYBUZEM ILC online class, or in our social media pages. (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Sign up is required every week to attend Speaking Club sessions. Learners can directly attend online speaking club sessions.
Speaking Club sessions are not done on exam days and holidays. Attendance is completely free and voluntary.
TEA TALK





Tea Talk activities are small group speaking activities where more sophisticated topics are discussed by participants along with tea offered by the ILC!
Tea Talk is suitable for intermediate and above students. Lower-level students (Starter, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate) are advised to start with Speaking Club first and attend Tea Talk sessions when they reach at least intermediate level. Only 5-6 participants are allowed for each Tea Talk session.
JUST TALK







Just Talk activities are small group speaking activities where participants discuss various topics with their friends, play games, or do presentations!
Just Talk is suitable for intermediate and above students. Lower-level students (Starter, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate) are advised to start with Speaking Club first and attend Tea Talk sessions when they reach at least intermediate level. Only 5-6 participants are allowed for each Tea Talk session.
LET’S TALK





Let’s Talk is a perfect speaking activity for those who are looking for individualized practice opportunities. Learners may find the booking list at the entrance of the ILC, pick a suitable time slot and write a topic they would be willing to talk about with an ILC teacher. Foreign students seeking focussed Turkish speaking practice are also welcome to book a time slot.
DISCUSSION DAYS

Discussion Days are learner-led speaking activities where free discussions are conducted in an environment where all the activities are managed by learners.
MOVIE CLUB


Watching movies is one of the most fun ways to improve your language skills, particularly listening. Movie Club sessions are enriched with additional speaking practice activities about the movie you watch.

Important Note: Movies Club sessions are purely educational activities aimed at helping learners improve their language skills through integrated skills tasks.
WORKSHOPS









ILC Workshops are popular learning activities in which our goal is to increase learners’ awareness and knowledge in educational, cultural or linguistic areas or other topics related to learning. Workshops may be conducted by the instructors of the School of Foreign Languages or invited speakers with special expertise in a given field. ILC Workshops may also be conducted online.

LEARNER STORIES







In Learner Stories, former students who studied prep school at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University School of Foreign Languages in the past are invited to chat with current learners and discuss their learning journey, their academic and professional lives that followed. Each session begins with a presentation by the invited speakers and end with a question-and-answer session.
GENERAL AND ACADEMIC WRITING COURSES

General and academic writing courses are offered to students at our university by experienced instructors. The purpose of these courses is to assist learners to improve their writing skills in both general purpose and academic contexts.
