The article titled Perception of Final Intonation in Native, Learned, and Unfamiliar Languages: A Cross-linguistic Study with Turkish Listeners, authored by Dr. Tarık Uzun and Zeba Chohan has been published in Volume 65, Issue 2 of the Journal of the Faculty of Languages, History and Geography (DTCF) of Ankara University.

The study examines how Turkish listeners perceive final intonation patterns within a comparative and crosslinguistic perspective. Specifically, it investigates how listeners perceive rising and falling final intonation patterns in their native language, Turkish, in English as a learned language, and in Urdu as an unfamiliar language. Conducted with the participation of Turkish learners studying at the B1 level in our English preparatory program, the study offers a comparative perspective, particularly focusing on how the perception of final intonation is shaped by linguistic familiarity and unfamiliarity.
