AYBU Learning Advisory Program Coordinator Gamze Güven Yalçın facilitated a workshop titled "Emerging from the Cocoon: A Self-Discovery of Purpose in Teaching with AI as Co-Reflective Companion!" on Saturday, September 6, at 11:00, upon the invitation of WinWin Teachers Training Centre, Ukraine.
The 90-minute session gathered a diverse group of educators from Ukraine, Romania, and other regions. The workshop explored personal values and professional purpose using the Ikigai framework. A key component of the session involved participants engaging with AILAP, a custom bot within BoodleBox developed by the unit coordinator as a co-reflective partner. This approach aligned with findings from the Harvard Business Review on the use of Gen AI for companionship and finding purpose.
Participants utilised AI-generated prompts to analyse Ikigai components and reflect on the dynamics of human versus AI interactions. One participant's reflection on the AI companion was noted: "Just help to see some things that I couldn’t see at first on my own."
The workshop aimed to foster a prosocial learning culture where educators can discover their gifts and thrive. This collaboration highlights AYBU LAP's commitment to integrating innovative, research-backed tools into professional development and the dissemination of advising practices.
