Dr. Zübeyde Durna Flygare, a lecturer at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University School of Foreign Languages, was awarded the “Best Doctoral Thesis Award” in November 2025 for her dissertation titled “The resilience and willingness to immigrate to Finland: a mixed methods research among international higher education students in Lapland.”
The award is presented by the Nordic Comparative Education Society (NOCIES), a prestigious international organization in comparative education. Dr. Durna Flygare’s dissertation received high praise for its innovative approach, examining the resilience and immigration willingness of international higher education students in Finland’s Lapland region using mixed research methods.
