Post-war buildings reconstruction:
the importance of the acoustic comfort
Workshop description
The aim of the workshop is to provide the participants with a basic knowledge on the main aspects of architectural and building acoustics. We will be spending half of each day (roughly 9 AM to 1 PM) in the classroom, learning from lecture materials.
In addition, the other part of the workshop is devoted to the collaborative working in groups on specific case studies. Students will be expected to bring their own laptop to follow along with the practical part and application of the theory.

This workshop will enable you to tackle acoustic aspects related to the built environment and understand the role of the architect/designer in the achievement of the acoustic comfort.
Students will have:
- the possibility to deal with a specific subject of Building Physics that is Acoustics;
- the possibility to raise awareness about the acoustic importance in the reconstruction of schools, hospitals, parks etc;
- the impact of considering acoustics in future projects as well as in their thesis works.
