As part of the ARCHE 428 – Turkish Architecture Miniature Design course at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts, Department of Architecture, we held a delightful Miniature Workshop on 28 October 2025.
The workshop was conducted by Miniature Artist Fatma Alparslan, whose inspiring presentation offered students a deep insight into the world of miniature art. In the first part of the session, she introduced the history and philosophy of the Turkish miniature tradition, explained its symbolic language, and showcased the traditional materials and techniques used in this delicate art form.
In the second part of the workshop, held in celebration of the Republic Day, students had the opportunity to observe the miniature drawing of the Second Grand National Assembly Building. Through this practice, they explored how architectural representation and national heritage can merge beautifully within the miniature style.
The session was highly engaging, and our students greatly benefited from the artist’s knowledge, experience, and passion for her craft.
