ARCHITECTURE-ART-DESIGN IN A TIME OF CHANGE
The symposium aims to bring together scholars to host an international forum to facilitate discussions on current issues in architecture, art and design. The symposium will cover various topics in these subjects with a contemporary relevance and a multidisciplinary perspective.
The speed of change has never been at the highest level in human history, and design is trying to keep up with this pace. Architecture renews itself in terms of structural, aesthetical, and functional aspects that correspond to the needs of every age. Art and design have perspectives on handling this change and try to adapt to renewals. This year, the symposium focuses on the theme of time and change in architecture, art and design with a particular emphasis on transformation, temporality and temporal change and their effects on the uses of space, medium and objects. It will focus on how to critically rethink current, sudden, permanent, temporary, natural, global and local changes and their impact on heritage, architectural history and contemporary architecture, art and design work and position, how it can develop disciplines for contemporary world, how to formulate research topics for the future, and what such innovations can be defined. Contemporary world offers new opportunities and challenges while new frontiers in architecture and creations in art and design are waiting to be discovered. Symposium invites scholars to rethink our understanding of design in an interdisciplinary and refreshing way.
