H2TEAM Hosts Academic Delegation from Utrecht University

The Hydrogen Technologies and Energy Application and Research Center (H2TEAM) of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University hosted an academic delegation from Utrecht University between 6–8 August 2025.

During the visit, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hamed Aslannejad from the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University and Maya Toghani, Coordinator of the Utrecht Hydrogen Lab, toured the H2TEAM laboratories and received detailed information about the center’s research infrastructure. The delegation was given technical presentations on proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell test systems, the PEM electrolyzer experimental setup, and the ongoing development of solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs).

On the second day of the visit, an experimental demonstration on PEM fuel cells was carried out. The parties discussed potential collaboration opportunities in the field of hydrogen technologies, focusing on joint R&D projects, PhD student exchange, and researcher mobility.

In addition, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and Utrecht University expressed mutual intent to establish a new agreement within the scope of the Erasmus+ staff and student exchange program.

H2TEAM believes that this valuable visit will further strengthen academic and research-based collaborations between the two universities and looks forward to the development of future joint projects.
