On Friday, February 28, 2025, members of the Hydrogen Technologies and Energy Research Center came together with scientific presentations on hydrogen production technologies and advanced materials science.
In this week's presentations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kayhan Dağıdır and Master's student Elif Nazenin Giray shared their research with the members of the center.
In his presentation titled “Investigation of Innovative Flow Field Designs with Lattice Structured Porous Materials for PEM Electrolyzers”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kayhan Dağıdır discussed innovative porous layer designs to improve the performance of proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers, which play a critical role in hydrogen production. In the presentation, the effects of porous materials on electrodes and flow channels were discussed and potential improvements to increase system efficiency were evaluated.
Elif Nazenin Giray, in her presentation titled “Synthesis and Characterization of Dysprosium Doped Magnesium Tetraborate (MgB₄O₇)”, shared her findings on the synthesis and characterization of rare earth element dysprosium doped magnesium tetraborate compound. The work is an important scientific contribution to the synthesis of new materials and the detailed study of their properties.
The presentations provided participants with important information on hydrogen technologies and advanced materials research, and set the stage for scientific discussions. The Center members followed the shared research with great interest and had the opportunity to evaluate it from different disciplinary perspectives.
