AYBU Makes Turkey Proud at the 2025 European Para Youth Games

The 2025 European Para Youth Games, one of Europe's largest sporting organizations, was held this year in the distinguished city of Istanbul. Hosted by the Turkish National Paralympic Committee and organized by the European Paralympic Committee, the event saw over 1,200 athletes from 33 countries competing in 9 different branches. Turkey achieved a major success by finishing first in the overall rankings with 10 gold, 13 silver, and 12 bronze medals.

Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University took part in this important organization with both its academic staff and students. One of our university faculty members, Prof. Dr. Bahar Anaforoğlu, served as a classifier on behalf of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation.

From our Faculty of Sports Sciences, student Merve Sefa Özsu won a gold medal in table tennis, and Rümeysa Cesur won a bronze medal in the same branch, making our university and country proud. Our student İrem Dürüst also participated in the competitions in the same category.

Furthermore, our students Semanur Yıldız, Berra Naz Tural, Aybüke Kuvvet, Fatma Nur Doğan, Hatice Coşkun, and Elif Zeynep Öztürk served as volunteers throughout the organization.
