The first "Kamp'üss" program, which aimed to introduce the National Technology Initiative, was held at the Conference Hall of the National Will Campus of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Abdullah YILDIZ delivered opening remarks, while our University Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Cengiz Köseoğlu, HAVELSAN General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar, and AK Party Ankara Member of Parliament Zehranur Aydemir also participated. The program addressed the adventure of the Turkish defense industry, the journey of the National Technology Initiative, the achievements of Turkish engineering, and the motivation of young engineers to reverse migration.
HAVELSAN General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar said, "As HAVELSAN, as part of our mission and historical responsibility, one of our core priorities is to develop national technologies and work with young people. We even named our headquarters 'HAVELSAN Technology Campus' to reflect our strong bond with young people. Just like the name of our current program, Kamp'üss."
Nacar offered advice to students, saying, "Don't focus on a single field. Don't settle for just your own department. Strive to gain interdisciplinary knowledge in areas like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, big data, and software development. Develop projects, engage in teamwork, and participate in school projects and technology competitions. Success at HAVELSAN or in the defense industry comes not only from technical knowledge, but also from harmonious teamwork and a resilient stance in the face of challenges."
AK Party Ankara Deputy Zehranur Aydemir said, "If you are independent and strong in the defense industry, your voice will be heard both on the field and at the table. Turkey can now strongly defend its own theses. It can maintain its presence regionally and globally without compromising its stance. It can undertake many important projects in the Eastern Mediterranean, Libya, Karabakh, Somalia, Ukraine, the Blue Homeland, and the Sky Homeland. You will achieve similar successes in the future. You will be the architects of such successes. This is what we want to convey with 'Kamp'üss'. We want you to be a part of 'Kamp'üss' and contribute to this awareness. It's not 'we came, we explained, and then we left.' We want us all to be a big family under the roof of 'Kamp'üss.' The 'Kamp'üss' project, whose foundation we are laying today, will implement many projects to build bridges between the defense industry and young people. As part of our program, we aimed to connect you with the honorable companies of our defense industry."
