The national patent application titled "Fish odor eliminator tablet that can be placed in packaging materials and its production method," filed by Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and inventor Associate Professor Dr. Elif Tuğçe Aksun Tümerkan, a faculty member in the Food Processing Department of our university's Vocational School of Health Services, has been evaluated by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and has been granted a patent certificate.
The patent application for this invention was filed by the AYBU Technology Transfer Office on behalf of our university in 2023 and, following a two-year review process, was registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office on October 21, 2025, as a 20-year patent with review. This invention, relevant to the food and packaging sector, aims to develop odor-absorbing packaging that can be integrated into all types of food and cosmetic product packaging used in food products, absorbing and trapping unpleasant odors. The invention is classified under three different classifications: B65D 81/26, A23B 2/00, and B65B 61/20.
