Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University's Software Engineering Club (ASEC) organized an event titled "Step Into the Gaming World: Industry Introduction and Development Day" to provide students with a deeper understanding of the gaming industry. During the two-day event, industry representatives met with students, and students enjoyed a rewarding experience with competitions.
The event opened with speeches from our esteemed Dean, Prof. Dr. Ergün Eraslan, our club advisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yenal Arslan, and Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Yıldız. The opening ceremony emphasized the importance of the event, our club, and ÜNİDES.
On the first day of the event, September 24, 2025, leading figures in the gaming industry met with students to share their knowledge and experiences. Mevlüt Dinç, a pioneer in the gaming world, shared his career journey and the games he developed with the students. Otto Games founders Mustafa Eyüp Karataş and Muhammed Onur Özçelikçi provided information about the global standing of the Turkish gaming industry, the İlkoyun Anka Operation, developed in collaboration with TAI, and the transformation of hypercasual games. MadDuck founder Efe Acer addressed the challenges of mobile game development, while TaleWorlds' Mehmet Arda Gündüz presented the company and presented on the game engine. Rysesoft founder Can Karabulut shared his industry experience, covering a wide range of topics from game design to publishing strategies. TOGED Secretary General Emek Barış Kepenek shared data on the gaming economy, esports, and global trends.
On the second day of the event, September 25, 2025, students quickly developed game prototypes in teams at the Game Jam event. The same day, students competed in a friendly competitive environment, enjoying the fun and awards given to the winners. Conferences, workshops, booth spaces, and networking opportunities throughout the two days provided students with the opportunity to explore the gaming industry from different perspectives.
