A TÜSEB-Supported Project from AYBU

The scientific research project, "A Transition to In Vitro Precision Models with Artificial Blood Vessels as a Way to Minimize Animal Experimentation," led by Prof. Dr. Leyla Didem Kozacı, a faculty member in the Department of Biochemistry at our university's Faculty of Medicine, has been awarded support by the Turkish Institutes of Health (TÜSEB).

The project, with a budget of approximately 3 million TL, is funded under the TÜSEB Research and Development Projects Support Program Group B (Call No: 2025-B-01). The project aims to develop innovative and scientifically based solutions to reduce animal experimentation and plans to conduct pioneering studies in the fields of artificial blood vessels and in vitro precision modeling.

The project is led by Dr. Ehsan Sanattalab, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nimet Yıldırım Tirgil, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering, Fatma Doğan Güzel, and Assistant Professor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Ahmad Salmanogli, will be supporting the research, while Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Avcı (Eskişehir Osmangazi University) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berivan Çeçen (New Jersey Institute of Technology) will serve as project advisors.

This project, which will be carried out through collaboration across disciplines, aims to make significant contributions to our country's scientific research capacity by bringing together the fields of health sciences and engineering. The study also represents a significant step toward strengthening ethical research approaches and serves as a significant example for the development of alternative experimental models.

We congratulate our university's researchers and wish them continued success.
