A Vehicle Developed by AYBU Students Placed Third in Turkey at Teknofest 2025.

The Hezarfen Autonomous Team, comprised of students from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (AYBU), achieved great success with their vehicle, "ABRA," by placing third in Turkey out of 568 teams in the Teknofest 2025 Robotaxi Autonomous Passenger Vehicle Competition.

Featuring a durable steel chassis and fiberglass body, "ABRA" is powered by an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. The vehicle, equipped with LIDAR, a stereo camera, and GNSS/IMU sensors, can perceive its surroundings and, with the support of artificial intelligence, recognize traffic signs and generate safe driving plans.

The Hezarfen Autonomous Team consists of eight Computer Engineering, four Mechanical Engineering, and one Electrical and Electronics Engineering student, focusing on autonomous driving technologies by combining the fields of mechanics, electronics, and software. The team is making significant progress in this area, building on its efforts each year.

We congratulate our team, which achieved third place in Turkey after four years of hard work, and wish them continued success.
