AYBU Made Our Country Proud at the 2025 European Para Youth Games

The 2025 European Para Youth Games, one of Europe's largest sports events, was held this year in Istanbul, Turkey's distinguished city. Hosted by the Turkish National Paralympic Committee and organized by the European Paralympic Committee, the event saw over 1,200 athletes from 33 countries compete in nine different sports. Turkey achieved great success by finishing first overall with 10 gold, 13 silver, and 12 bronze medals.

Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University participated in this important event with both its academic staff and students. Our faculty member, Prof. Dr. Bahar Anaforoğlu, served as classifier on behalf of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation.

Merve Sefa Özsu, a student from the Faculty of Sports Sciences, won a gold medal in table tennis, and Rümeysa Cesur won a bronze medal in the same event, making our university and our country proud. Our student İrem Dürüst also competed in the same category.

On the other hand, our university students Semanur Yıldız, Berra Naz Tural, Aybüke Kuvvet, Fatma Nur Doğan, Hatice Coşkun and Elif Zeynep Öztürk volunteered in the organization.
