The "1st Ankara Arbitration Day" symposium, hosted by our university, was held on April 28, 2025, in collaboration with the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, the International Arbitration Application and Research Center, the Ibn Haldun University Dispute Resolution Application and Research Center, and the Turkish Arbitration Academy.
The symposium's opening remarks were delivered by our University Rector, Prof. Dr. Ali Cengiz Köseoğlu; Ankara Chamber of Commerce President Gürsel Baran; Assoc. Prof. Dr. A. Eda Manav Özdemir, Head of the International Arbitration and Alternative Resolutions Department in the General Directorate of Law and Legislation at the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey; and Prof. Dr. Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükçuoğlu, Director of the Ibn Haldun University Dispute Resolution Application and Research Center.
The symposium concluded with three sessions, attended by Adem Albayrak, First Deputy President of the Court of Cassation and President of the General Assembly of Judges and Prosecutors (HGK); Abdullah Yaman, President of the 11th Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seracettin Göktaş, President of the 9th Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation; Fethi Aslan, President of the 5th Chamber of the Council of State; and Prof. Dr. Neslihan Karataş Durmuş, Dean of our University's Faculty of Law.
The first session, chaired by Adem Albayrak, First Deputy President of the Court of Cassation and President of the General Assembly of Judges and Prosecutors (HGK); Prof. Dr. Ali Cem Budak, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Ermenek, Prof. Dr. Ersin Erdoğan, and Assistant Professor Cansu Korkmaz, delivered presentations.
The second session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Ejder Yilmaz, featured presentations by the President of the ITOTAM Arbitration Board, Prof. Dr. Hakan Pekcanitez, Prof. Dr. Murat Atali, Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilirmak and Assoc. Prof. Dr. A. Eda Manav Özdemir presented their papers. In the final session, chaired by Abdullah Yaman, President of the 11th Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation, Prof. Dr. Süha Tanriver, Prof. Dr. Musa Aygül, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Belkıs Vural Çelenk made presentations.
The symposium was attended by numerous members of the judiciary, representatives of public institutions, academics, and bar associations from both within and outside the city, and was met with enthusiastic interest.
