Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and the Uzbekistan Academy of Law Enforcement signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in April 2025, solidifying their collaboration, at an official ceremony held in Tashkent. The Memorandum of Understanding launched a comprehensive collaboration process in the fields of legal education, research, and academic exchange.
Academic Exchange Programs and Joint Research Highlighted
The agreement envisions collaboration in various areas, including education, research, personnel training, and cultural exchange, in line with the principles of equality and mutual respect between the parties. The signed agreement plans to develop student and academic staff exchanges, joint degree programs, field studies, workshops, and joint projects, particularly in the fields of public and private law, including cyber law, artificial intelligence, criminal law, forensic sciences, digital forensics, and cybersecurity. Various activities are also envisioned to strengthen cultural awareness and professional networks among the staff of both institutions.
A Turkish Delegation of AYBU Academics Also Participated in the International Agreement
The agreement, which also featured significant contributions from AYBU Faculty of Law Dean Prof. Dr. Neslihan KARATAŞ DURMUŞ and Dr. Samet TATAR, Director of the Turkish-Uzbek Legal Research Center and Head of the Department of Information Technology Law, emphasized that the two countries' existing legal cooperation will be further strengthened. Rector KÖSEOĞLU stated that the significant agreement signed between the two institutions is of both academic and diplomatic significance.
Strengthening Through Collaboration in International Rankings Aimed at
The agreement aims to increase the visibility of both institutions in international academic rankings and contribute to academic excellence. In this context, the aims are to increase joint research output, increase the number of publications, and strengthen academic recognition. The Memorandum of Understanding forms the foundation for a long-term and constructive partnership between the two institutions and aims to further advance academic cooperation between Turkey and Uzbekistan.
